It is a great opportunity to challenge the way you think, respond and reflect. Its empowering, impactful, and great to unpick even the most complex of topics. It really works! : Our facilitator, Charlotte was excellent – supportive, direct, incredibly knowledgeable and able to tailor the sessions to our experience and needs

Definitely undertake the programme if you get the opportunity to understand how the process can be embedded in your own practice. The process allows us to question ideas in a structured way whilst empowering the presenter to be independent in their own thinking. It was a really enjoyable training experience.

Charlotte was an amazing facilitator and is clearly extremely knowledgeable regarding the process of action learning. She engaged the group throughout the 3 days and considered everyones individual learning needs to achieve the course objectives.

I thought I knew the basics of Action Learning as a tool, until I went to the training provided by Daisy from Action Learning Associates…where I discovered how powerful it can be for exploring, expanding, reflecting and collaboratively discussing issues colleagues experience, both in their work and home lives. AL can be applied in so many settings – teaching, research, exec education, enterprise etc., and offers huge value for improving wellbeing and co-creating solutions to challenges. I highly recommend making time to attend this training.

It is a powerful solution-focused way of facilitating personal and professional development through peer support and coaching. It is so empowering as one discovers how resourceful they can be and how much they have at their disposal to solve problems and challenges.

Action learning has become a fundamental part in how I think about things (both professionally and personally). I would encourage anyone with a desire to inspire creative thinking in problem solving to consider action learning. It provides a safe and structured environment to tackle complex problems or ideas, empowering people to take action in their daily lives. But more than that, it teaches people how to listen, ask the right questions, and come together in an experience that feels both physically and mentally cathartic.

The course was fabulous. I was unable to make the last session and Sonja was very accommodating and went out of her way to help me catch up. Importantly, I received a very positive response to my disability and was able to openly share how MS can affect my speech and vision at times.  Thank you, Sonja and Action Learning Associates for providing such an inclusive and supportive environment to learn in.

A powerful way of exploring different perspectives to come up with alternative and more robust solutions to challenges.

What a fantastic course it was. I know we will stay connected as a group ourselves, and that is in no small way down to your learning style and approach. Thank you so much for giving the six of us confidence to take this forward with energy and passion.

As women directors, we have many similar challenges, it is nice to know we are not alone. I believe I am now a more confident and empowered director.

Participating has given me resilience to do my job. I have a greater sense of empowerment. I recommend this to other colleagues to join the network.

It’s a thoroughly tried and tested course, benefitting from many groups before ours. Self funding it makes it feel an even more valuable investment than if an employer had paid!

Fantastic way to learn about action learning sets and a solid grounding of the skills needed to be in a set and facilitate sets. The programme is structured perfectly to enhance the learning experience and be able to take in a huge amount of information.

An additional toolkit for supporting social justice initiatives and system challenges work (embedding new learning). It is a great skill and toolkit for use within groups/organisations. I feel like I am a more competent practitioner and advocate of social justice for it!

A very exciting tool with so much potential! An antidote to ‘leadership and experts’. Supported, professional, warm, highly experienced learning space.

I learnt a new skill which I can use with managers when advising them to reach their own conclusions. It is going to be a really useful tool to help develop managers and empower them to deal with any problems they may have.

Attending the action learning facilitator training workshop has been a game changer for me. This tool is invaluable to drive forward organisations, supporting individuals and groups. I have never had a facilitator/trainer that got me to learn the way he (Andrew Odgers) did. He made it look effortless despite being long sessions on Zoom. I didn’t want the sessions to end.

I now have a powerful methodology that can help teams and individuals develop.  It will greatly assist with building high performing teams.

I’m a sole trader, but I will definitely be championing the value of virtual action learning – especially in the midst of the pandemic, but also as a powerful way of bringing people together in a safe, fruitful way to tackle issues.

I gained more confidence in facilitating AL in the virtual space and was able to explore a range of possible techniques. Experienced role as presenter and participants, which really helps to understand those perspectives as a facilitator. Overcame my online deficit mindset. Learned about other inline tools that can be used.

The group gave entirely positive feedback about the training. They particularly noted the good content, the helpful pace which gave enough time for them to reflect and your engaging manner. Thanks again for your flexibility on the group size, which meant the whole team could have a shared learning experience. We would love to do something again in the future.

The way in which the training was conducted enabled me to immerse myself in this valuable learning opportunity. If you want to really master the principals of action learning so that you can confidently and completely apply them you will find 3 days allows the structure to leave you well equipped and confident.  Each day strengthens and deepens your knowledge.

It was genuinely the best learning experience I’ve had in as long as I can remember.

Great training provided by ALA. The contact, planning and co-ordination for our bespoke course prior to delivery was first class. Our trainer Nick Wright provided our course with a fantastic learning experience. He brought a wealth of knowledge with him and was incredibly compassionate in his delivery style. He also brought a generous helping of fun to our course. I would highly recommend ALA and Nick Wright.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for an excellent course.  Not only do I have a very good insight into the practicalities of action learning, but I have also learned some valuable lessons about facilitation in general.  I really think this is the best course I have ever been on.  Your approach was superb and inspiring. Very many thanks.

I really enjoyed the virtual approach – it was great to be able to connect with others in different countries and across sectors, and to do this with a lower carbon footprint.

A thorough understanding of Action Learning and it’s applications and how I can use it going forward. I feel confident to share my facilitation with others and to continue to improve my skills.

My company has gained the ability to use this simple but effective tool to enhance greater depth of learning and getting right to the question.

the action learning set . . .created a more powerful influential group dedicated to improving the business.  Action learning provides a measured approach to problems and gives structure to actions needed to solve issues

While initially feeling counter-intuitive to how we normally operate by providing solutions, I have found this to be insightful and can see the value

I would like to thank Nick for running the programme.  He was incredibly good at encouraging me to feel relaxed with the process.  I really appreciated his quiet style and felt fully supported by him as a trainer.

The course gave me a more in depth insight into ALS and demonstrated the power of the process in developing core management and leadership skills, such as active listening, effective questioning and driving ownership of solutions.  Overall I found the training extremely beneficial

By far the most positive experience I have had with an external training provider …this is predominantly down to Ruth’s expertise and ability.  Ruth quickly created an incredibly effective environment for learning and listening. The quality of listening in the room was unparalleled.

action learning …united  a professional team and encouraged them to work together to share group objectives and ideas

Action Learning has been fascinating to me and has given me some beautiful learning and contrasts. The concept is inspiring and intriguing. I have been challenged emotionally and intellectually and developed my responses to new stimulus.

We are about to launch a leadership programme and action learning will be a large part of the programme – I feel I can 100% confidently apply all my learning from this course and make it a success for our business and its people

We see the benefit [of action learning] for Nissan as being about developing a coaching approach, increasing self-reflection, helping build creative solutions and create opportunities for peer group learning and building effective networks. It will help us break down silos and create a more open and reflective culture.

The team action learning was very good for the 70-20-10 process. On this course you will work with your own challenge- and you will become better at asking open questions and reflection.

My company has gained increased support for and from the team. The action learning set created a more powerful /influential group dedicated to improving business.

I hope it has empowered my team to come to their own answers and to allow them to communicate them out to the wider business.
