Join our Advanced Programme in Action Learning Facilitation (ILM Recognised)

Once you’ve completed our action learning facilitator training programme (ALFT) and put your knowledge into practice, you can further your development by following our advanced level facilitator training, an ‘ILM Recognised’ programme. ‘ILM Recognised’ is a quality benchmark to ensure our programmes meet the highest standards. Complete assessed written work and join a comprehensive action learning progression session with other trained facilitators, either virtually or face to face. Note: often, cohorts from our facilitator training programmes stay together to complete this advanced programme around 6-9 months later.

Benefits of becoming an Advanced Action Learning Facilitator (ILM Recognised)

  • You’ll distinguish yourself from other facilitators by gaining our CPD qualification approved against the ‘ILM Recognised’ quality benchmark, the highest level of recognised programmes in action learning. The ILM is the top leadership and management qualification specialist in the UK.
  • You will embed your learning from the action learning facilitator training programme by reflecting on and writing about your facilitation experience in the assessed Reflective Learning Log
  • You’ll take your understanding further as you work alongside other practitioners at our session – see below.
  • You can join an open programme for this course, working with facilitators from other organisations and contexts, or run it in-house, for a group of your organisation’s own ALA-trained action learning facilitators.
  • On the open programme, you’ll create a network of facilitators working in different sectors.
  • On completion, participants will receive a hard copy ‘ILM Recognised’ certificate along with digital credential. These can be shared on email signatures and social media platforms.

Keeping the log has been great because all that learning from the three days is captured here and I have realised that there is an undercurrent running through everything I do. Doing this has increased my capacity to hold the space for people.

What to expect from the Advanced Programme in Action Learning Facilitation (ILM Recognised)

Once you have completed your assessed written work (see below), the half-day programme combines hands-on practical experience with a deeper learning of different action learning models, and you will be sharing experiences with other practitioners:

What assessed work is involved?

The key element of this process is to produce a Reflective Learning Log. This will involve adding to the Learning Log that you produced during your action learning facilitator training with us. It will include elements on how to apply your learning in practice. Many action learning facilitators have found this process extremely useful in their development as a reflective practitioner.

You may find this article useful, it explains what your action learning log could look like, and the options you have to produce a log that works for you.

This was an excellent course and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to develop their practitioner skills.
