Condensed courses in virtual action learning

In response to the current climate with many people working in dispersed teams, we are responding to demand for our virtual courses. Here we introduce our new ‘crash courses’ in virtual action learning, to help you gain the skills you need right now for your own professional practice or your wider organisation.

These are shortened versions of our full courses, to enable you or your teams to be up and running with new skills as soon as is practicable.

Condensed course – In-house action learning facilitation training for leaders

Embed the leadership and facilitation skills needed to support home working teams and remote workers.

This short course will give leaders and managers the skills they need to build connections between colleagues who work in different locations. It helps them engage in a powerful form of learning together, in a way that they have not been able to before. They will be better equipped to motivate, support and encourage teams whilst keeping them productive and focused on work targets.

Working together, your team leaders will develop effective methods to manage real, live issues in your organisation, share views and generate innovative ideas. In essence, both your people and the business will benefit from new skills, to be ‘ready now’ for the challenges that lie ahead.

The programme

Groups of between four and six participants meet for an initial short virtual session to contract together and discuss the differences in approach to facilitating a virtual, rather than a face to face, action learning set.

We then go on to complete the three day sessions, either as consecutive days, or days close together.

All in-house virtual action learning programmes are led by senior associates with years of experience working virtually.

Practicalities

Groups of up to 6 people

1 x 1 hour contracting session with all participants
3 x 5 ½ hour sessions on consecutive days, or days close together
An additional short session of 3 hours a few weeks later.

Booking a place

Courses are limited to six participants but we need a minimum of five to enable the course to run.

We will send you an invoice for the full fee, and we are happy to accept payment by BACS or cheque. If you wish to pay by credit card we will send you a PayPal invoice for the full fee. All invoices are due for payment within 30 days of the date of the invoice.  Please indicate on your booking form how you would like to pay. We will hold a provisional place for you whilst your payment is being processed and your booking will be confirmed once we have received cleared payment.

Logistics

We run a short pre-course briefing session to ensure everyone is comfortable with the technology and to agree whether to use Skype, on-line or telephone conferencing. We will agree a mutually convenient date for the first contracting session and following 3 x 5 1/2 hour sessions and a half hour session and then agree a subsequent date for the final session at the first meeting. An administrator organises the sessions and provides back-up should there be technical problems.

Cancellations and refunds

Cancellations must be received in writing by email to info@actionlearningassociates.co.uk.  If you cancel after paying, or within 4 weeks of the agreed date for the course to start, we can only offer a refund if we are able to find a replacement. This is because courses are experiential with a limited number of participants so any late cancellation can affect the learning experience for other participants.

There will be no charge if a substitute person from the same company/organisation wishes to replace the original booking.

Cancellations by Action Learning Associates Ltd

ALA reserves the right to alter any of the course content, change the person delivering the course, and, in exceptional circumstances, to cancel a course at any time without liability. In such circumstances, delegates will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.

Learn the skills needed to facilitate action learning sets virtually.

This short course is open to anyone who has trained already as an action learning facilitator and will give you the skills you need to adapt your face to face action learning facilitation skills to work in the virtual world.

The programme

Groups of between four and six experienced action learning facilitators contract together in the initial session and discuss the differences in approach to facilitating a virtual, rather than a face to face, action learning set.

The 3 half day (3.5 hour) virtual meetings will take place to explore the practicalities of working virtually and provide participants with the opportunity to take part in or facilitate a virtual action learning set.

Sonja Antell will steer the group through the potential pitfalls and offers her considerable experience and skills.
