Bonnie Grotjahn


Bonnie is an experienced facilitator, psychotherapist, project coordinator, teacher and trainer who works supportively and creatively with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds. An effective communicator, she has worked with adults and children in the community and with organisations in the public, health and voluntary sectors. Having worked in Russia as a language teacher and for Quakers, Bonnie speaks fluent Russian.

Action learning

Approved by ILM to deliver the Professional Development Programme in Action Learning facilitation Bonnie is a welcome addition to ALA’s trainers and, with her excellent language skills, can offer facilitation for customers with global teams. Closer to home, Bonnie organises and facilitates action learning sets for freelancers and self-employed people.


Graduating as a humanistic and integrative psychotherapist in 2010 Bonnie is currently undertaking on-going professional and personal development and clinical supervision. An experienced counsellor and psychotherapist in private practice, she is a member of a co-operative of psychotherapists and counsellors in the Cotswolds.


An experienced facilitator, Bonnie has worked with the Children’s Society to design, develop and deliver participative programmes for children and for young people in Inner London Boroughs. This included facilitating workshops and activities, delivering training for managers and adult practitioners in participation work with children and young people, including in local health care trusts. Her work included facilitating strategic action planning, carrying out participation audits and evaluation, and writing good practice guides. Having spent a number of years working for a Quaker project in Moscow, Bonnie has facilitated Alternatives to Violence Project workshops in Russian and English. As an employee and in a voluntary capacity for the project as an international board member, she has project managed a number of programmes, facilitated staff appraisal and development and chaired board and committee meetings.
