Action learning can be an immensely powerful tool for individuals, organisations and businesses. Building a self-sustaining network of action learning sets within your organisation can provide a highly cost-effective process for continuing management development and self managed learning. Introducing the skills of action learning facilitation within your organisation can also enhance and extend general facilitation skills, improve management behaviour and encourage focussed leadership.
Action Learning Associates is a Recognised Provider with the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM). We can provide a made-to-measure ILM approved course to train your staff to facilitate action learning sets. We design a three day intensive course to suit your specific needs. Three days allows the participants to immerse themselves in the process, experience running action learning sets at first hand and receive feedback to improve their performance.

- coping with challenging set members
- alternative models of action learning
- evaluation
- preparing sets for self-facilitation
We provide an Action Learning Handbook with useful resource material to help plan the introduction of action learning sets in your organisation and handout material which you can reproduce in your own work.
On going support
Newly trained facilitators benefit from meeting as a group of peers to share practical issues when they start facilitating sets and to continue to develop each other's skills, challenge thinking and give honest feedback. After the initial training Action Learning Associates can provide on-going support for a facilitator set.
Professional Development Award
Our training is endorsed by the Institute of Leadership & Management and, on successful completion of the programme, can lead to a Professional Development Award in Action Learning Facilitation. If your organisation opts for accreditation participants will complete a Reflective Learning Log and attend a further development day around six months after the initial training.
