On reflection, my 22-year career in arts education, group facilitation and training has been about supporting and encouraging people, one way or another, to strive for the very best in their lives.

This has taken me on a professional route from drama teaching at secondary and FE level, to becoming Head of an Adolescent Centre for young people excluded from school. Then on to design, accredit and manage an Arts Education and Training Programme for Clean Break Theatre Company in London, working with disadvantaged women. After five years I left to take up the post of Executive Co-Director of the Anne Peaker Centre, the national umbrella organisation for arts in social inclusion and criminal justice.

Two years ago I became a freelance consultant and now undertake a healthy mix of training, action learning set and other group facilitation, as well as working with small-scale arts charities on organisational and staff development, and fundraising.

My track record includes:

• Facilitating Action Learning for the Independent Theatre Council (ITC)
• Writing, accrediting and delivering a national training programme to prepare arts practitioners, local authority officers and voluntary sector agency staff (300 plus practitioners trained over three years) to work with challenging groups in open and closed community settings (Arts Council England)
• Training trainers (Anne Peaker Centre)
• Training youth justice staff in accredited dance-based learning (Bradford Youth Offending Team/Dance United)
• Writing and delivering courses for classroom assistants on how best to support teachers (Kent Education Committee)
• Facilitating civil ceremonies such as renewal of vows and naming days (Civil Ceremonies Ltd)

I can offer Action Learning facilitation in London and across the East, South and South East regions.

When I’m not at work I enjoy, among other things, cultivating vegetables, walking or cycling long distances, and spending time with family and friends.
