Kate Pinder
With extensive local government experience, including 15 years as a management development officer, Kate moved to self employment in 1997. She has facilitated on numerous leadership programmes for local government including the Democratic Leadership (for elected members) and at regional level. Kate has worked as Assistant General Secretary for the National Association of Educational Inspectors, Advisers and Consultants. As national coach and facilitator for the Modern Managers programme of the Improvement & Development Agency, Kate has written an information pack on the recruitment of chief executives under the new political management arrangements.
Action learning facilitation
Kate facilitates action learning sets for top managers in local government and the Health Service. Her public sector clients include the Probation Service, Civil Service College, the Fire Service and the NHS Leadership Centre. Voluntary sector clients include Oxfam, Mind and Shelter. Kate is an associate of SOLACE Enterprises (Society of Local Authority Chief Executives) and the University of Warwick (Local Government Centre) and an accredited coach and Personal Development Adviser in the Health Service.
Coaching and action learning sets
Kate has worked on a one to one basis in a number of settings: as a marriage guidance counsellor and counsellor in education, as a coach for senior managers within a local authority and on national programmes, as well as with the most senior managers in the NHS as a personal development specialist and career adviser. She is trained in the use of a variety of diagnostic instruments.
Kate's learning set experience is within and across local authorities and in joint sets with the NHS for health chief executives and social service directors. She trained with Goldsmith’s College, the Institute of Group Analysis and the Tavistock Institute on group work, and has an MBA and a diploma in counselling.
