Sophie Maclaren

Sophie is an experienced facilitator who brings to her facilitation practice a wealth of skills developed over many years working as a teacher of mindfulness, yoga and Buddhism. Sophie has extensive international training and experience, particularly working with young people. In 2010 she founded EveryBodhi a social –profit organisation that brought together a global community of young change-makers interested in mindfulness as a tool for personal and social transformation. An independent consultant Sophie also teaches yoga and mindfulness.

Action learning facilitation

An experienced action learning facilitator for the past two years Sophie has facilitated action learning sets as part of the “Leading for Impact” graduate student leadership course offered by the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at the University of Oxford. She trained as an action learning facilitator with Ruth Cook and will shortly complete the ILM endorsed Professional Development Programme in Action Learning Facilitation. Sophie’s considerable experience as a mindfulness teacher enriches her action learning practice. Mindfulness supports the facilitator presence and quality of attention enabling group members to feel safe, to take risks, to step outside their self imposed notions of what they might say, do or think.
