Action learning facilitator training for individuals

The course

The fee covers first class training in an ideal action learning environment, as well as lunch and refreshments for all three days. Costs also include a workbook for you to reproduce or adapt for your own work and on-going support to help you develop your skills as an action learning facilitator.  Please call us if you would like more information or to arrange a free, no obligation consultation with Managing Director, Ruth Cook.

Booking a place

Courses are limited to six participants but we need a minimum of four to enable the course to run. Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis and are secured by payment of a non refundable deposit of £300+ VAT (sole traders, public, voluntary & art sectors).  The balance is due four weeks before the start of the course and fees must be paid in full prior to the course date.  We will confirm whether the course will go ahead as soon as we are able, in any case no later than two weeks before the start date.
We are happy to accept payment by BACS, cheque or we can invoice you. If you wish to pay by credit card we will send you a PayPal invoice for the full fee which is payable at the time of booking.  Please indicate on your booking form how you would like to pay. We will hold a provisional place for you whilst your payment is being processed and your booking will be confirmed once we have received cleared payment.

Course times

Courses generally run from 9.45 for 10.00am to 6.00pm (Day 1), 9.15 for 9.30am to 6.00pm (Day 2), 915 for 9.30am to 5.00pm (Day 3) but these times can be subject to change.

Advanced learning programme

Course participants can further their skills through an Endorsed Programme in Action Learning Facilitation, a course approved by ILM. We believe your skills can be further advanced with continued opportunity to develop your practice and learning so the process involves producing an assessed reflective learning log and attending an additional development day in London, usually around six months (ideally no more than a year) after the training. These sessions provide an opportunity for peer support and are a valuable way to reflect on your learning and share experiences with other practitioners. For overseas participants we are also able to offer advanced learning by virtual action learning.

Our advanced learning programme is entirely optional; you do not need to commit to attend at the same time as booking the course.

Cancellations and refunds

Cancellations must be received in writing by email to  Your deposit is non refundable.  If you cancel after paying the full fee, or within 4 weeks of the course, we can only refund the balance of the fee if we are able to find a replacement. This is because courses are experiential with a limited number of participants so any late cancellation can affect the learning experience for other participants. If you cancel and have paid for accreditation in advance we will refund this element of the fee.
You can transfer your booking to a later course providing the transfer has been made more than 4 weeks before the course date and transfers will then be made without an administration charge. Additionally, transfers can be made at the discretion of the company in exceptional circumstances. There will be no charge if a substitute person from the same company/organisation wishes to replace the original booking.

Cancellations by Action Learning Associates Ltd

ALA reserves the right to alter any of the course content, change the person delivering the course, and, in exceptional circumstances, to cancel a course at any time without liability. In such circumstances, delegates will be offered an alternative date or a full refund. ALA will additionally refund any travel and accommodation expenses that have already been booked and paid for if the course is cancelled within seven days of the start date.
